ドイツ語のSchadenfreudeは「他人の不幸に喜びを感じること」という意味で、一単語の英語に訳すことができない語としてよく引用されるが、近年日本語では「めしうま」という言葉が人口に膾炙したことによって、直訳が可能になった。
